Look for Kavita's seed stall in the Wisk market. Weki's Scythe item record lists her as the seller in all seasons and gives a price of 65 Gold Petals. That is the database's own 1.08b coverage claim, not a price independently checked in a 1.09 save.
Equip it before cutting
Place the tool in your hotbar and right-click its icon to equip it, then stand near grass and press Space on keyboard. Eastshade's version 1.03 notes recommend this equipped method and also allow the slower method of hovering the item over grass. Check your current bindings if you have remapped the interaction key.
Use it on grass and pond plants
Cut grass clumps to gather Cut Grass; players also describe using the Scythe to clear and harvest the cranberry pond. The Scythe is separate from the enchanted axe used on dead trees. Weki's 1.08b mechanics table lists three mana per Scythe swing, so check your mana if an equipped tool does not respond; the number has not been measured by this site.
