Glimmerwick Field Notes is an independent guide site. This page explains the limited data the site and its hosting provider handle. The site has no accounts, contact forms, newsletters, advertising scripts or site-run purchases.
Analytics
With no saved choice and no browser privacy signal, the site enables Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-9D85JBJWGK) for basic visit measurement. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization remain denied; Google Signals and ad personalization signals are disabled. If you save a decline, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics storage is denied and existing Google Analytics cookies are cleared.
PVUV.ai (site ID ZJERGWpA) is a separate analytics script. It loads only after you explicitly choose “Allow analytics” on this page; it does not load by default. PVUV records page views, sessions, interactions, device and browser signals, errors and Web Vitals. Its sensor and ad-protection features are disabled. If you decline or withdraw, pages already open are reloaded so the PVUV script is destroyed, and its cookies and local storage are cleared; the reloaded page does not load PVUV again.
Cloudflare, the hosting platform, also serves a cookieless Web Analytics beacon on this site. Cloudflare describes it as aggregate measurement that does not use cookies or local storage to identify individual visitors. It is separate from Google Analytics and PVUV and is not controlled by the choice buttons on this page; the site does not use it to build visitor profiles.
Analytics choices
You can allow basic analytics, or decline and withdraw an earlier allowance. This controls analytics only and never enables advertising. Your choice is saved in this browser for up to 180 days and is not extended by ordinary browsing.

Cookies and browser storage
- The analytics choice is stored in the first-party cookie
sgw_analytics_choicefor up to 180 days. Ordinary browsing does not extend it. Clearing the cookie restores the default behaviour described above. - Google Analytics may set
_gaand_ga_*cookies. This site configures a 180-day expiry and does not refresh them on every page view. - PVUV may set
_pv_id,_pv_sid,_pv_ft,_pv_v,_pv_uidand related cookies. Its public documentation describes a visitor cookie of about 396 days; local storage used by the script may not expire automatically. These identifiers are separate from the 180-day analytics choice. - Cloudflare states that its Web Analytics beacon does not use cookies or local storage for this site.
Site search
The search dialog downloads a public index and matches your query in the browser. Search terms are not sent to a search service and are not saved by the site. The search dialog does not put the query in the page URL.
Embedded video
The official trailer uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. The player may load when more than half of its area is visible or when you press Play. That connects your browser to Google/YouTube and is subject to their privacy practices. Privacy-enhanced mode does not prevent all data processing. Ordinary links to YouTube, Steam, itch.io and Eastshade Studios take you to those services; their own policies apply.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamps to deliver the site, prevent abuse and produce security and performance logs. The site does not combine those logs with analytics data.
Your choices
You can allow, decline or withdraw Google Analytics and PVUV on this page at any time. Cloudflare’s cookieless hosting analytics remains active as described above. This is an independent site with no public contact address or message form; do not send personal information through the site because there is no account or form to receive it.
