Songs of Glimmerwick: How to Find Your Last Fish
For Florian’s A Study in Fish, the target is 15 different species in the Florian’s Fish chest—not 15 copies or a required named “last” species. After the fifteenth, wait for his next-day letter and speak to him to collect the book.
Count distinct species in Florian’s Fish
The quest guide says to meet Florian, return to his gallery the following day, and accept A Study in Fish. Put one of each species into the chest named Florian’s Fish. The quest has conversations at 5, 10, 14 and 15 filled species; the guide says the chest closes after the fifteenth.
If the book has not arrived
There is no universally designated species that must be caught last: compare the species you have caught or deposited with the fish list and choose any unsubmitted species that advances the distinct-species count. After the fifteenth, the quest guide says Florian’s letter arrives the next day; speak to him after it arrives to receive the Book of Fishes and complete the quest. If a milestone conversation did not trigger, the guide recommends adding newly caught species one at a time. The source was last edited 6 October 2026 and does not state a game build.
A missing milestone reward
For a missing Gilded Toadstool after fish quick-transfer, Eastshade said that the controller quick-transfer bug was fixed in 1.06 and supplied a specific recovery command for players who missed that item. That is a separate reward issue, not a requirement for the final book. See the console status for the developer’s instructions and their limits.
