Songs of Glimmerwick: How to Earn Money
Sell surplus items through the Magic Well beside the garden gate and collect the proceeds when you sleep. Keep seeds and quest ingredients first; the available evidence does not establish one universal highest-profit method.
Put sale items in the garden well
Take items you are ready to sell to the Magic Well by the garden gate. The 9Puz opening walkthrough describes dropping sale items into it and receiving payment during the night; Weki's mechanics table likewise lists the proceeds on the day-end screen after sleep. The well is a sale interaction, so check the item before depositing it.
Start with surplus, then compare processing costs
For early cash, sell spare foraged materials or produce after reserving what your current quests and garden need. As you gain recipes and supplies, food and potions are additional sale categories. Compare the expected sale value with the ingredients consumed and the time needed to gather, grow or make them; the cited sources do not measure comparable Gold Petals per day for every method, so they do not establish a permanent best crop or potion.
Keep ingredients you will need
The opening walkthrough specifically advises keeping starter seeds and the three harvested Basil needed for Clary's turtle task. Check the journal before selling a rare ingredient, and retain enough seeds for the next planting. Merchant abilities can change the value of particular sale categories; Weki's figures are a 1.08b database snapshot rather than a measured 1.09 earnings comparison.
Older money advice may have been patched
Eastshade's version 1.05 notes say an infinite-money exploit involving Sera's shop and Esteemed Baker was fixed. Do not budget around that exploit. The later 1.09 notes do not report a general change to well payouts; they also do not constitute a retest of the fan database.
