Songs of Glimmerwick: Azara or Rowan? Lighthouse Keeper Hat Choice

In Lighthouse Keeper, the sea temple yields Rowan’s stolen Gross Garment hat. Give it to Rowan to return it and hear the reported invisibility effect, or hand it to Azara; asking for payment first can earn 400 Gold Petals. Fextralife lists 5 XP whichever way the quest ends, and keeping the hat leaves the quest open.

Find the Gross Garment

Start Lighthouse Keeper by speaking with Azara at the lighthouse. Bring her four harvested Rhubarb and four Spring Tuber; after the food hand-in, return when you own a boat. Azara teaches Hymn of Sea’s Abyss and directs you south of Mel and Lusina’s Shell. Play it at the dark, deep-water location to raise the sea temple, talk to the statues and collect the Gross Garment. The quest journal identifies it as Rowan’s stolen hat. These prerequisite and temple steps are reported in written walkthroughs, not independently replayed by this site.

Return it to Rowan

Give the Gross Garment to Rowan in the Dorm Hall. The written quest record says he takes it back and explains that the hat makes people invisible when used correctly; the quest then asks you to report to Azara. This route returns the stolen item to its named owner. No cited record lists a Gold Petal payment or a separate player invisibility ability for this branch.

Give it to Azara or bargain first

At Azara, choosing “Here you go” hands over the hat; the quest record says she tries it, cannot use it correctly and completes the quest. To pursue the recorded 400-petal payout, ask “What do I get?” Fextralife says “Good enough” accepts the offer, but Weki marks that reply as making no quest-state progress. Both records map “Not even close” followed by “Fine” to the 400-petal hand-over/completion route; Weki explicitly lists the hat transfer and step 4 reward there. “No deal” leaves the quest open. The choice record also lists “It’s not yours” as a way to keep the hat for now; Azara asks again on a later visit. No source describes a repeat payout or a way to finish while retaining the hat.

What changes, and what is not established

Fextralife says Lighthouse Keeper awards 5 XP whichever way the quest ends, and Weki lists 5 XP at the quest level; these are guide/database reports, not this site's branch test. A hat hand-in closes the quest: Rowan returns it to its named owner and explains its reported invisibility use, while Azara tries it and cannot use it correctly. Bargaining with Azara before surrendering the hat is the only route these records associate with 400 Gold Petals. If you refuse and keep the hat, the quest stays open, so the listed completion XP has not yet been earned. The character reference distinguishes Azara and Rowan’s roles. The operator did not play or retest either branch in version 1.09.
