Look for Thistle in the Zoology Courtyard or Bellian Moor. The 1.08b-labeled item table lists five Thistle for a Griffin Habitat, but sources disagree about its seasonal availability.
Search the courtyard and Bellian Moor
An accepted Steam reply says Thistle can be foraged in Bellian Moor; another player says the summer Herbotany camping trip takes you there. Weki's Thistle record additionally lists one foraging spot in the Zoology Courtyard and ten in Bellian Moor, describing a prickly stem with purple flowers. These are area-level leads, not a verified pin for every plant; check the item name when you collect one.
Save five for a Griffin Habitat
The same record lists five Thistle, five Wild Thyme, five Wild Mint and ten Twigs for a Griffin Habitat. Thistle also combines with Dough into Thistle Batter, which can be cooked into a Thistle Cupcake. Keep the five needed for the habitat before using or selling the rest.
Season information is disputed
Weki's item table says Thistle can be foraged in all seasons and labels its data through version 1.08b. NoobFeed's 16 October plant guide instead places Thistle in summer and says some of its plant entries were not independently checked. The discrepancy has not been resolved for 1.09, so do not rely on a guaranteed season or same-day respawn from these sources.
