Songs of Glimmerwick: University Garden Guide

Take Clary’s Campus Career lesson, till an ordinary plot, plant one of her Basil Seeds and water before the day changes. Reserve three harvested Basil for her turtle request; only sell the surplus you can spare.

Unlock the garden and match the plot to the seed

The Gardening Basics walkthrough says Clary’s lesson gives Song of Tilling and five Basil Seeds. Till an empty ordinary crop plot and plant a seed there. Tree seeds need a large tree plot; pond plants have their own planting context. The source is a community walkthrough last edited 6 Oct 2026 and does not state a build.

Water before each growth check

The guide reports that ordinary crops need sufficient moisture at the day change and that watering uses one charge. A full watering can holds 12 charges. Fresh Basil takes three watered growth days for its first harvest and regrows after two more growth days; other crops differ. Rain or an active automatic-watering effect can supply moisture, but watering does not instantly mature a plant.

Harvest ripe plants and protect quest ingredients

Interact with a ripe plant to harvest. Some plants regrow; others leave an empty plot and need replanting, and the guide warns that seed returns are not guaranteed. Keep three harvested Basil for Basil for a Turtle before selling. The garden well pays at day’s end, so depositing crops is not immediate cash.

If a crop does not grow

Check that a seed was planted, the can had water, the plot type matches the plant, and the plant is still alive. The guide also notes that vermin can kill susceptible crops before ripening. A dead plant, a dry plot and a tree seed in a small plot are different problems; verify the current prompt before replacing a seed.
